Anindita Institute of NursingWorld Heart Day is an international campaign to make every individual aware of heart diseases and risk related to it. This day is perfect to start doing exercises, to start eating healthy food and to quit smoking. It is very necessary for everyone to lead a healthy lifestyle all over the world. Nowadays, we all are very busy with our daily chorus, have lots of stress but in between it is very important to adapt all good habits that will preserve our health after all ‘Health is Wealth’.
According to the World Heart Federation, approximately 1.7 million people died due to strokes and heart diseases every year which is more than people dying from malaria, AIDS and cancer. The prior causes behind heart diseases are lack of exercise, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, imbalance glucose levels, overreacting and unhealthy diets. World Heart Day drives message that heart diseases are serious though it can be prevented.
SIGNIFICANCE OF WORLD HEART DAY
The main objective behind celebrating World Heart Day is to improve the heart health globally and to encourage all ideal people to enhance their lifestyle and also to promote knowledge regarding heart health and how to keep your heart free from diseases internationally. This lesson is very important as it has been surveyed that poor diet, obesity, physical inactivity is accelerating amongst young generation which can be a great threat to every nation.
On World Heart Day, many events take place to promote awareness about heart health. Many organizations and charities organize runs, walks, public talks, exhibitions, health checks and many other informative and interesting events to make the day successful. In the year of 2000, the World Heart Federation first celebrated World Heart Day on 29th September. In the year 2012, leaders all over the world committed to reduce the non-communicable diseases by 25% by the year 2025. According to the studies, half of the NCD deaths are caused due to cardiovascular diseases. This is observed to be the biggest killer around the globe. World Heart Day is a notable day for the entire society to make ourselves active and to fight against cardiovascular diseases.
World Heart Day is celebrated to draw attention all over the world and to make them aware to lead a quality lifestyle. Regular exercise, meditation, healthy diets and mental peace can lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases. There are many government and non-government organizations that took part on this day to make people aware about their heart health and they also give information about leading a healthy lifestyle and to lower the heart disease risk. So, on this World Heart Day, all of us should get involved in regular exercise, to get outside instead of sitting in home with mobile phones and scrolling newsfeed and to start eating healthy foods. Add more fruits and vegetables in our diet and make our heart healthy.
Today on December 14th, the world observes World Energy Conservation Day, a day to remind the world that energy conservation is not just about reducing costs, but also about safeguarding the planet for future generations. In a world being increasingly threatened by environmental challenges, World Energy Conservation Day emphasises the importance of responsible energy consumption and urges individuals, businesses, and governments to take action toward a more sustainable future.
The fight for human rights is urgent. The time to act is now.
