Anti-Ragging Cell is one of the most important parts of Educational Institution's mechanism. As per the guidelines
of UGC under the Act of 1956, which is modified as UGC regulations, 2009 on curbing the menace of Ragging in
higher Educational Institutions.
Ragging has been a disturbing reality in the higher education system of our country. Until the directions of the Supreme
Court, UGC and AICTE conforms that if any instance of ragging is brought to the notice of the administration or the faculty,
it is legally binding on the institute to bring the incident immediately under the purview of law and order. Every single
incident of ragging or abetting in ragging puts an obligation on the institution to get the FIR registered. There are
provisions in the IPC, which can be used by a student to register an FIR in the nearest Police Station.
Though each Institution has its own Anti Ragging Committee, we have formed a centralised Anti Ragging Committee that
oversees all the other committees to ensure safety and security of every student.
