The Library is an integral part of any college. The library has a crucial role in supporting higher education as well as research activities; it has assumed great importance & new dimension today in the context of the phenomenal growth of knowledge. PGIMS has an independent wing for the library with carpet area measuring about 3000 sq. feet. This library provides multi faceted knowledge of technical subjects of Pharmacy. We at PGIMS constantly try to upgrade and update our collection to keep the teachers and students abreast about never expanding knowledge base.
Library has is a separate furnished, spacious, well-lit reading room that can accommodate about 120 students.
Library collection includes Pharmaceutics, Pharm.Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Management & related Subjects, Reference books like the USP, BP, IP, Martindale, Merck Index, and Manuals etc. Library has a good collection of old Reference Books & Bound Volumes of Journals. The library has a collection of subject wise books, reference books, national & international Journals, several thesis in fields of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Pharmacognosy. Besides, the library has a collection of non-book materials i.e. slides, cassettes, floppies, CD's etc.
Globalisation has broadened the arena of knowledge over the years and it has become a mandatory requisite for any student to get connected with the world activities. DIGITAL LIBRARY: OPAC: Online Public Access Catalogue:
Our central library is fully digital. We use world’s best library management software Koha which is a fully featured, scalable library management system that enables the students to access the library from where he/she is. Through Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) students can search the Library database to know the status of the Library Book. One can search this OPAC by entering the Name of the Title, Name of the Author, Call Number and Accession Number of the Book. Since the original implementation in 1999, Koha functionality has been adopted by thousands of libraries world-wide, each adding features and functions, deepening the capability of the system. With the integration of the powerful Zebra indexing engine, Koha became a viable, scalable solution for libraries of all kinds.
Koha includes modules for acquisitions, circulation, cataloguing, serials management, authorities, flexible reporting, label printing, multi-format notices, offline circulation for when Internet access is not available, and much more. It’s web-based interface, has made it more user friendly as it can be accessed as is where is mode.
Apart from our own Digital Library there are other reputed digital libraries where we hold our membership so that our students can refer those for more knowledge.

BOOK BANK FACILITY:
Book bank facility is an integral part of the Central Library which is offered to all the students. They can opt for the facility and collect books from the book bank and keep those books till the end of the semester. They don’t need to have any extra eligibility for availing this facility. Book bank is offered from the very first day the semester starts.

The house of publishing and printing of GAS is committed to the values of co-operation and communication, mutual departmental respect, creativity and innovation, excellence of service. It also supports Institutional and Departmental strategic goal & achievement by compiling research work for the development of new publications, preparing tertiary education handout and work books, producing quality magazines in all oriental and other languages, compiling of conference workshop and lecture presentation papers, printing of poster, pamphlets, brochures, programmes, invitation cards, circulars, council papers and other administrative documents.

Creating an opportunity for the students to enhance and improve their creative skills is also a responsibility of any educational institution. ELIXIR was published first in December ‘2014 with a good initiative of management, Faculties and student of Gopsai Avinandan Sangha. All of them given their tireless efforts to come up with some new thinking & creativity. That tradition still continues, sometimes yearly, sometime once in two years. We hope to continue this to ignite the creative effort of the students.
